Seems like a perfectly logical thing to do. Have you visited the MS download centre and downloaded their version of VC 2015 - maybe the copy you have is corrupt.

Have you searched the error code? According to MS support 0xc000007b is a.net error, not VC yes i realize this however every time i fix that it goes back to the VC errors and I cant seem to fix those.
