There are two different radio edits of 'I Ran'. Both are edits of the long version and start with a crash cymbal, but the more common one plays the rest of the song and ends cold, while another (US edit, maybe?) loops the chorus and fades out. The original UK LP has the long version of 'I Ran', but apparently the 12' was issued in the same cover with both short and long versions. North American versions of the LP swapped out the long version of 'I Ran' for the short version, shuffled the running order, and dropped one song entirely ('Tokyo'). The CD restores the long version of 'I Ran', but doesn't include 'Tokyo'. Things get more complicated with the follow-up LP, as the cassette edition included some b-side tracks not on the LP. The Cherry Red reissues are definitely louder and brighter than the earlier releases. Not as terrible as some other brickwalled messes but it's noticeable. I've never heard the Beehive pressing of The Story Of A Young Heart but I'm sure it's fine. I have the first Japan release of that disc so I never bothered with the Beehive release.

Oh yeah; 'Tokyo' is ESSENTIAL! So aren't 'Windows,' 'Pick Me Up,' 'Committed,' 'Living In Heaven.' GOD I loved this band so much in the 80's and most only know them for the handful of singles that are quite overplayed. New Wave was such a new concept with MTV being fresh in the beginning I just ate it all up, and A Flock Of Seagulls were at the top of my list truly. Once Paul ducked out it was just over for me though.

Drum sounds wav. Click to expand.I'm trying to remember but I don't think they pulled it off. It would be great to see them reform and put out an album. I loved the first two albums and still have my DMM LPs of those two. I liked the third quite a bit and The More You Live is probably my favorite song by them. I.think. I have all their 12' singles through Heartbeat and really need to make a compilation because they had some cool b-sides. Wasn't Paul like fifteen when they got started?

Just crazy how talented he was at that age! I'm trying to remember but I don't think they pulled it off. It would be great to see them reform and put out an album. I loved the first two albums and still have my DMM LPs of those two.
